It will mark the chain’s third location in the Bay Area after Concord’s Sunvalley Mall and at Eastridge Shopping Center in San Jose. No official date for the Round One opening has been announced, though it’s expected to happen toward the end of next month. The site of the Holiday Bowl, a landmark in the south of town since opening in 1958 at Mission Boulevard and Industrial Parkway West, is scheduled to be developed into townhouses. Hayward has been without a bowling alley since 2005, when the city’s last remaining one, Holiday Bowl, shut down. Round One, a Japanese retail chain, offers bowling, arcade games, karaoke and other activities, as well as a bar and restaurant, within a single spot. The lanes will be in Round One Entertainment’s center in Southland Mall. HAYWARD - For the first time in more than a decade, Hayward will have bowling lanes, scheduled to open this summer.
